Hello from Indiana - where we went from 67 to 17 in about 8 hours Sunday night, a tornado in a nearby town, then a constant, chilling wind for a day. My bedroom/studio is the former attic with no connection to the central heat (other than what rises up the stairs.) A small space heater warms the room to tolerable and there's nothing like a nice hot water bottle tucked at the foot of the bed. Stitching, weaving, writing, reading - it's a cosy situation at the moment.
I am in sync w all the wishes for a gentler 2026 with some magic sparkles here and there. My word of the year is EASE... <3
Hello, Jude. I hope that you are keeping warm (in every way) during this very cold spell. Thank you for sending me this e-mail, and for sharing your tender photo. I'm grateful to hear from you — this past year has been one of great upheaval for me, and I feel like I am finally finding my way back to ?something?. May 2026 touch us all more gently.
Happy new creative year Jude - & Solo!
so sweet! Are they hungry?
Happy new year Jude from down under 🦘🐨
Backatcha!
well so it is. Happy NYEE. Deer in winter like a good salt lick.
Good to know...
That poor deer looks like she's been searching through the snow for food. A bale of hay would be a lovely gift.
Stay warm; spring will arrive sometime.
She found my herb garden under the snow.
I love your close observations and fabulous photos of the deer.
The photo was a surprise, taken through the window even...
Oh, such wonder in the wild! I just loved seeing this photo.
Right at the window ... a curious visitor. Thank you!
Here in southeast Tennessee we dropped 17 degrees overnight
for a 2-day cold front. Appreciating heat, water, tea and a little
dog to warm my lap.
Yes, wild weather everywhere! They come to the windows often, at ground level.
Just put your arms around that.little cutie!!
Wish I could!
What a sweet face, and look at the winter coat.
Yeah, looking a bit donkey-like.

I cannot believe the wide range of weather conditions in the last 48 hrs. Crazy! And wonderful. Bread in the oven!
Dear, deer.
Stay safe and well, Jude.
Happy you're back.
👋
Hello back! Keep warm, and well.
Trying!🙃
Sure is!
Geez!
Great photo. Looks like you were very very close. What a treat.
Looking in the window.
A real beauty she is ...
