Since coming here, I have found a number of tiny blue jay feathers. I made a bouquet of them, bound by a small bit of your magic thread, and put them in my tiniest vase.

maybe it's baby bluejay season!

You know how much this art thrills me!!

And, oh yes! I do the very same, dipping my brush in my drink, not the rinse water 😅🤣

I guess it's a thing then, nice to have things in common with you travelling companions...

Oh that feather… love

so perfectly there.

How precious! The rainbow lorikeets used to bless me with their feathers but not so much now, they seem to be absent in the city, the mynahs drive everyone else away - so territorial.

I never spotted one so small, I must be walking slower

makes me stop and feel grateful.

Made my day.

Ha, better than drinking the jar of water instead of your coffee! Love Wishing Mother... I'm only a cat mother, that's hard enough!

Trying to care for Loosey is making things complicated.

The gown on the Mother figure is fascinating ... it looked to me like she had pulled her mask down to fully show her face. Powerful piece. Stars. I had a chuckle along with many of you over dipping the brush in the coffee (tea for me) instead of the water container. Little feathers. I just saw a blue jay this morning. Life is good.

The mask, that is a great thought.

Ha! Certainly not a simple thing. My son is 63 today and sometimes I still want to give him a good swat.

The beauty in tiny feathers -- amazing. Always a treat to find one.

Jude Hill's avatar

well swat is not me, but I know what you mean....

Jude~ No, no it is not a simple thing. I'm trying to imagine if we knew that before the births of our children? Would there be so many children? Mmm?

I laughed at the coffee statement. Funny how things stick with us. I misspell "things" almost every time I type it, by putting the "s" in the same wrong order...every.time.!! haha

The feather is perfect!! Small feather finds have been frequent and much on my mind!

Jude Hill's avatar

probably there still would be. A woman is not simple thing...

These things that stick with us, that is who we are...

Or not...

Love it. So human. That Blue Jay feather is beautiful...

Jude Hill's avatar

cannot believe how small it is. That I saw it in the grass.

When I worked with clay, I would use vinegar to help seal joints. I don't know how many times I lifted the bottle to drink from it. That would have brought me back down to earth in a hurry!

Jude Hill's avatar

oh, yeah, that too, grabbing the wrong vessel.

I dip in my drink all the time...

Jude Hill's avatar

ha!, I have tried to arrange things to avoid it but I go into a trance while working.

Jillayne Wickware's avatar

Ha - me too! I even tried resorting to using an old coffee cup for my painting water but that didn't work well unless I had no drink at all which is pretty much my strategy now. I spend as much time trying to figure out how to get out of my own way at times than how to do the thing I'm trying to do.

Same!!!
