I live among chipmunks and squirrels. I know I shouldn’t but I give them peanuts. They wait now in the morning. Sometimes they look in the window. This one crawls right up my leg and takes the nuts one by one from my hand. No film crew here to get a video. They are preparing for the colder months. I watch them gathering, the squirrels burying the nuts here and there, then later they will remember, no GPS, and dig right through the snow, surfacing with a breakfast treat.
I’ve buried a lot of things in my life. But now where did I hide them?
This one might seem silly. A stray September self, cobbled from leftovers as I long to make sense of my day and make bits of this and that useful. I’m scattered and feeling all mixed up in this crazy ass world.
But then, it’s September.
Goldenrod and wild asters cover the fields. Soft perfume and millions of bees. It’s just humming out there. I find myself walking barefoot and humming along with them. In Peace.
It cooled down last night. Quite chilly this morning.
But there is lots of wood. Good thing cuz the energy and fuel cost are ridiculous… don’t get me started. For now we are lucky me and my Soul-o…warm and cozy and just going.
Loosey comes and goes, we’ll see how the winter goes.
Hoping to engage in a little Weave Fest in the (not) Forever Zone this autumn. It’s been a while and wool is so perfect moving into the cooler season. Reconsidering weave then. I made this pillow in the 70s. For Mom and Dad. I remember dreaming of apple trees and a little red shed. Buried and found. I am living it now.
I doubt there will be a shop update with this coming new moon. Too busy with living. Feeling grateful for that.

Thank you for sharing your life so sweetly. In gratitude for this sweet day.
This post knocked my socks off, Jude. My support hose, actually. Thank you.
