With all that has washed over me in recent weeks, I have spent less time with my work. I settled by just looking at this small fragment this morning. Made during Small Cloth Class. The structure, in so much contrast to the flow, but then not really, I sense some sort of sempathetic evolution. How both together bring instant clarity. The built and the not built. The planned and the unplanned puzzle pieces.
I am encouraged to continue now, catching my thoughts with cloth and paper. Before they disappear. I think a lot about that, do you?
The longer season here has presented some spectacular contrast. All the leaves are down, brown, but the morning glories, although frost damaged, came back to haunt me. Still here, still here…
My teaching site, which I will now call Spirit Cloth Studio is going through some changes. It was shut down but I have reopened it, minus the blog, while the changes are being made in the background. Some of you are enrolled in private pages there and I thought it might be better to allow access while I fiddle behind the scenes. I thank you for your patient understanding. If you are subscribed there, you will only receive updates to the teaching site, the life and story will remain here.
For now, this place seems ok. I do notice , though, that you need to click through to the host site to view videos within the post, as opposed to being sent to You Tube. there are tools here I have not yet investigated, but for now, hey ho!
The flow of things and line always speak to me. I was looking at some images of old maps of the "meander path" of the Mississippi river, done in 1944. They map out the changes in the river over many years. Beautiful images that are speaking to me in terms of place not being a static thing.
I also admire your persistence in the face of technology.
This morning "my work" caught me. Thinking about that... :)
