Speaking of old cloth I’m about to receive about a 50 old grain sacks that were part of a quilters stash she was getting rid of. They only cost was postage. They’re quite large, all cotton, and perfect, perfectly imperfect.
I wonder what the cloth is like, it can range from burlap, and soft cotton to very tightly woven and dense cotton and linen. Some are hard to stitch on.
I saw several images of them. They look fairly soft, not too thick or dense. But either way they will be put to use. If they are heavier, they can be dyed and used for things like the pillow sham backsides.
I’ll send you one if you like, let me know if you want it dyed or just plain.
That sucks. I stopped drinking a year ago on Thursday. Old drunks are not cute. I went through a medical program and in addition to prescribing Naltrexone for cravings, I also got gabapentin and IT helps me sleep like a baby. We are just bags of water with chemicals anyway, so I figure why not mix in a couple more to make my life easier. Sorry you can't sleep. 3am is the loneliest time of life.
Old Japanese indigo cloth carries such depth and character! Nine for Peace is simply breathtaking, Jude! ❤️

She’s had them for decades apparently visions of something dancing in her head but the time came…
She offered them in a quilt restoration group and I seemed to be the only interested party. Go figure.
